Peak K9 training

|Dallas Dog Training

This was the beginning of Mark’s dog training passion.  He had to teach Smokey, along with basic obedience, how to climb stairs, get use to: traffic, big crowds, public spaces and kids.  This took time, patience and a calm, but assertive attitude.

His success with Smokey led him to becoming a volunteer for St Louis German Shepherd Rescue and over the course of 3 years fostered, trained and found new homes for over 20 dogs.

After teaching dogs manners the conventional way with leash training he was introduced to the use of a remote collar. A method of training that was easier on the dog and less frustrating for the human.  Mark took the necessary steps to educate himself in the proper use of the collar thru Gayle Justice’s Maximum K-9 remote collar school.

Training is tailored to the needs of you and your dog and typically conducted in your home each and every training session not like others that only come for (1-3) then expect you to show up for group sessions.

Mark has been called to train…

• Paco, a Chorkie who would run away and not listen well to being off leash reliable!

  1. Ike, the German Shepherd to walk nicely on the leash and not to attack the fence when

   neighbor is doing yard work.

  1. Jada, a one-year old German Shepherd to channel her high energy and direct it towards

   productive training sessions.

…and many more.

So, if you feel your dog would be great at agility and want to start having fun right away.  Mark can show you how to teach your dog to jump hurdles and go thru tunnels all in one afternoon.  It‘s endless to what you can teach your dog in agility, a lot of which would take forever in a “purely positive” class.  The confidence that your dogs gains every time it learns to conquer new obstacles builds a stronger bond with you.  The stronger the bond, the happier dog, the happier you will be!

For Mark training is about the dogs that have touched his heart and the ones he has helped to stay with families that had lost hope of having a well-behaved dog.  He stays in touch with his clients, as most of them become friends.

Mark will be teaching a PEAK K-9 Puppy class.  Get your puppy off to a great start.  Check out the PEAK K-9 Facebook page for upcoming dates.

In addition to dog training he works as a professional photographer and would be more than happy to photograph you, your dog and family.

Mark Hoffman has trained dogs for more than 13 years and because of his devotion not only to his own canine family but, to many others, decided to open PEAK K9 as a professional dog trainer. His interest in training started with the adoption of his first dog, Smokey, a 7-month old German Shepherd.  Smokey was born at Ralston Purina Farms and did not get the socialization that is most important in a young puppy’s life.  Mark realized that the urban environment he was bringing Smokey into would be overwhelming and stressful for him.
